  The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is searching for an outstanding full-time Board Certified/Eligible Laborist to join the Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology in Norfolk, Virginia.       EVMS, founded by a grassroots effort by the local community, has provided education in medicine, biomedical sciences and other health professions in southeastern Virginia since 1973.  The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the leading departments of EVMS, providing advanced and comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services to the community.  Inpatient coverage of obstetrical care is provided at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH), a quaternary level hospital and flagship hospital of Sentara Health Systems. Obstetrical care is shared between the divisions of general obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine and include laborists, medical students, residents and fellows actively participating in obstetrical care. SNGH is the high-risk obstetric referral hospital for Southeastern Virginia and Northern North Carolina with about 3500 deliveries annually and 650 maternal transports per year.      Located in a historic region, Hampton Roads includes the cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News.  This family-friendly area ranks as one of the top places in the country in which to live.

Acute Care Surgeon The Department of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School, a center of excellence in patient care, education and research, is currently recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Professor Level.  Candidates must be board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care with a strong interest in acute care surgery, emergency general surgery, trauma and critical care.  There will be opportunity for an elective general surgery practice as well.  We are responsible for managing and staffing a Level 1 Trauma Center and are fully integrated with the surgical residency at EVMS.  This is an academic appointment that requires successful candidates to be committed to patient care, resident, fellow and medical student education and research.  Candidates will be expected to participate in the clinical practice, administrative and teaching programs at EVMS.

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is seeking a Pulmonologist or Pulmonologist-Intensivist as an Assistant or Associate Professor for its Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. The candidate will participate in the clinical and educational activities of the Internal Medicine Department. The physician must be proficient in bronchoscopy, intubation, thoracentesis, ventilation management and central line placement. The position is primarily clinical and outpatient-based in Norfolk, Virginia. EVMS is known for excellence in clinical medicine and passionate teaching.   The successful candidate will have completed a residency in Internal Medicine, with a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care, be board-certified or board-eligible in Pulmonary Medicine, with a passion for academic medicine. The EVMS Division of Plastic Surgery is seeking a board certified/board eligible plastic surgeon who has completed an ACGME-approved fellowship in hand surgery with subspecialty certificate or plans to seek a subspecialty certificate in surgery of the hand, at the Assistant Professor level to join our full-time academic faculty. Our practice is diverse and therefore, candidates should be interested in and capable of the full spectrum of plastic surgery including microsurgery.   This is an excellent opportunity for the individual who wishes to pursue an area of interest in an academic environment.  Faculty provide patient care, education and mentorship to medical students and residents.  The position offers a great opportunity for research with laboratories available on campus.  In addition, the institution offers an excellent salary and benefits package.
